  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) —  Among today’s most popular forms of psychotherapy, CBT can be very successful in treating anxiety and depression. CBT identifies behaviours that can result from misdirected thought patterns. New coping mechanisms are developed for the patient, and in many cases, CBT eliminates the need for medication.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) — This form of therapy can be very effective in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The objective is to eliminate “reliving” the traumatic event, and recall the incident without the associated feeling of intense pain or upset. EMDR mirrors what happens during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, and helps the patient review the traumatic event in a less disturbing manner.
  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) – We use CAT to help a patient understand why they may think or feel the way they do determined by past events or relationships. With cognitive therapy techniques, our goal is to help you develop the tools you need to cope with life issue(s) in a healthier way.
